Browne's Fine Jewelry was founded in 1980 by Neil and Dalal Browne as Jewelry Service Inc. They operated under that name in the Champaign-Urbana, Illinois area until October of 1995 when the present name was instituted.

Browne's Fine Jewelry moved to its current location at 302 West Kirby Avenue in November of 2000.

Our Jewelry Experts

Neil Browne is a master goldsmith with over twenty-five years of experience in the jewelry industry. He is certified by the Gemological Institute of America in Diamond Grading and Evaluation. Neil has extensive experience in both the design and creation of jewelry pieces and is involved in the selection of each piece of jewelry that Browne's Fine Jewelry offers to customers.

Kari Johnson the Manager of the store has been a part of Browne's Fine jewelry for nine years and is certified by the Gemological Institute of America in the following programs: Diamond Essentials, Diamond Grading, Color Stone Essentials and Color Stones. Kari is currently training in Gem Identification, the exacting science of identifying gemstones and their treatments. She stays up to date on current changes in the jewelry industry and is involved in selecting each diamond that Browne's Fine Jewelry chooses for its collection. Kari is exceptionally capable of answering any questions you may have about your purchase.

Andrea Laird has been a part of the sales staff for five years and is certified by the Gemological Institute of America in Diamond Essentials and Diamonds. Her growing knowledge in gems is especially helpful in selecting the perfect gift for that special someone.

Lisa Johnson has joined our team and become an important member of the staff. In addition to Office Management, she has proven herself as a wonderful addition to the sales staff. Her love of jewelry is abundant.

Julie Luckenbill has earned her title of master goldsmith. Julie is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois Metals program in the College of Fine and Applied Arts. The attention to detail she brings to each job, whether it is a simple repair or a complex custom creation is extremely impressive. Her creativity and design ability is a great addition to the resources available at Browne’s Fine Jewelry.

Shawn Everette is the newest addition to our staff. Shawn is a wonderful artist who is training in the art of metalsmithing. His previous experience in glasswork gives him an edge in the fine detailing necessary when working with fine jewelry.

Browne's Fine Jewelry manufactures in house the finest custom designed jewelry you will find anywhere in the United States. We have two master goldsmiths on staff as well as the renowned designer Dalal Browne. Dalal will be happy to discuss design with you by appointment or during store hours which are 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you have a sketch of your idea, you can send it to us for a professional rendering.
